Can you tell me exactly how to get to, and sign up for, JournalFen? is it on LJ or is it a totally different website? Thanks!

The site is http://www.journalfen.net and you can get a code by asking for one at the community for codes. Just look in the FAQ section and it will ask the question 'How can I join?' or something along those lines. ^_^
Right this second someone is doing something to the site, but try again later.
Here is what the thing says about JournalFen: What is? JournalFen is an online journal keeping system. It uses a port of the LiveJournal software. Unlike LiveJournal, which is open to everyone, JournalFen is a journaling system specifically targeted towards members of "media fandom." Because we are serving the needs of media fans, we offer more icons than most other online journaling system. We'll be adding many more features over the coming weeks.

Sorry I haven't made you a friend there yet, but our freezer wasn't working. And we had to check all the circuit breaker, and it still didn't work, so one of our outlets doesn't work. And since JournalFen isn't working at the moment, I'll add you later.
